Mackenzie Family Resource Network

June is…

  • Pride Month

Pride Month is a time to celebrate love, acceptance, and the beauty of diversity. It’s a special opportunity for families to learn together, support one another, and embrace what makes each person unique. Whether you're attending a community event, reading inclusive books, or simply having thoughtful conversations at home, Pride Month is about showing kindness and creating a world where everyone feels safe, valued, and proud of who they are.

  • National Indigenous History Month

June is National Indigenous History Month in Canada—a time for families to learn about and celebrate the cultures, traditions, and contributions of Indigenous peoples. It’s a great opportunity to explore stories, songs, and art that reflect the richness and resilience of Indigenous communities. By joining in local events, reading books together, or having meaningful conversations, families can honor Indigenous history and help build understanding and respect for all.

Programming is designed to be family-centered, strength based and culturally appropriate.

FRNs offer online and digital support remotely to communities across Mackenzie County, as well as in person.

MFRN provides a range of services and supports that focus on strengthening parenting and caregiving knowledge, social support, coping and problem-solving skills, access to community support and resources, improving child and youth development, building resiliency and fostering well-being.

When parents need a helping hand, MFRN is here to support with parenting and caregiving knowledge, social supports, coping & problem-solving skills and access to community initiatives and resources.
